An established Navy Family Medicine Residency program is seeking a qualified teacher to become part of the faculty in this 13/13/13 program. This position offers a highly competitive salary without productivity requirements and robust federal benefits including a pension plan. We prefer that applicants are currently practicing obstetrical care but this can be discussed on a case-by-case basis. Teaching requirements include inpatient adult and pediatric medicine and obstetrics and precepting of residents in their continuity clinic. We offer protected teaching time and opportunities for scholarly activity. Prior military experience is not required. The Family Physician position at Camp Pendleton, California is located in the Family Medicine Department, Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, California. A qualified candidate will become a core faculty member and work collaboratively within a team of 12 other Family Medicine faculty physicians. We proudly serve the military population in our area. Our clinic population is primarily composed of family members of active duty Marines and Sailors. We also have a large number of retirees from all services. As a Faculty member, you will be assigned your own panel of clinic patients. In addition to clinic precepting and inpatient supervision, faculty members are encouraged to perform and precept procedures such as vasectomy, colposcopy, minor skin procedures, exercise stress testing, joint injection and obstetrical ultrasound based on current competency. We have opportunities for the practice of operative obstetrics for a qualified and trained individual.
